I am in the double digits as far as years go on skiboards. I have ridden just about every length, width, and flex of skiboard there is to ride. I have ripped every type of terrain that god put on this earth. I have greatly enjoy progressing over the years in my riding. Riding skiboards is an awesome experience, and they are awesome little tools for the mountain, but the thing that I love most about skiboarding is the community and the people I have met through the years. I can truly say that some of my best friends are right here on this forum. I know people across the country, and across the world to be honest. Its really cool to know what good friends we have in this community, and know that if we need a place to bunk, or a friend to ride with, there will always be someone on this forum willing to help out. So to all my friends and family on this forum, thank you, you are why I love skiboarding.

In 2009 the idea of having short skis was rounding my head, but I didn't know about skiboards. I went with a friend to a ski shop to buy some ski poles for him (he wanted them to do hiking/trekking), and I asked for this "short skis". Then they showed me some 90cm salomon snowblades. At that time I didn't know that they're not the best option, but I loved the idea of short skis, so I bought them, mainly because they were very reasonably priced (at that time, around sixty dollars). A few months later I tested them in Valle Nevado, a Chilean Ski Resort. Gee that was awesome! I used to ski with some rossignols 177cm skis, and the change was astonishing! now I had absolute control, could do much better turns, in summary, I loved them.

A couple of weekends ago, I went again to the mountains, and in a ski rental I bought some second-hand Crazy Creek skiboards, and I borrowed my snowblades to my girlfriend. She had skied before, a couple of times with some 154cm dynastar skis. Both of us had a great time, she was very happy with them, so i decided to give her my old snowblades and keep my crazy creek skiboards (I know they're not the best skiboards around, but will do for a beginner) and I'll sell the good ol' rossignols.

Other thing that i love from skiboards is that they're very lightweight and, as they're short, I can store them in the trunk of my hatchback, just pack them and go!

The point is - I've only been out for one day and im already madly in love. I am so happy I found this forum and read all these posts that convinced me to just go out and try it, and be me. Convinced me to break free!

    Thx guys.

ditto ditto ditto, very nice quote " I am a Skiboarder. I am Free." I think we all can relate to that, nicely put.

no other snow sport ever felt right. From the first time I got on skiboards I knew it was the sport for me. I have had a long love affair with the sport. Its heading into its 12th year. I hope like last season that it will love me back , just one more time.

    I concur.
Skiboarding becomes a passion to those who try it, love it, and live it.

Skiboarding is also a high performance, all mountain sport. That is what I love about skiboarding. It encompasses all. What to learn quick and go huge in the park? Skiboarding is for you. Want to be the slickest on-piste rider at your local resort? Yep, got ya' covered. You'll be there in a hurry. Want to hike for 5 hours to the top of nowhere to carve those "first ever" tracks? You are in the right game. Want to enjoy the mountain while laughing it up with you kids on the greens and blues? Want to do things your way - feel the mountain the way you want to feel the mountain? Welcome to the party. We as skiboarders have the most fun. Also, and this is important - despite having high end, technically advanced equipment, our stuff is reasonably priced. Almost anyone can afford to own 2-3 sets of different boards and a top end set of bindings to swap out between them. Not to mention that our equipment fits in the trunk or back seat of your car. No requirement for a roof rack. Buy another set of bindings instead. We represent diversity at its' very best.
