Great series of vids, keep them coming!

I was wondering about the RCs vs PMs or Spliffs, if the powder is fresh and deep, it's obviously a RC day, but when the off piste gets tracked and closer to hardpack, at which point would you switch to one of the other two ?

If it's not mostly soft then I'll switch to Playmakers, and, I always have another pair in the car (with the speed disc system can switch in seconds) if I guessed the snow conditions incorrectly.

Greco, in mixed snow off piste, do you prefer the PMs with softboots/snowboard bindings or with hardshell & non-release ? In which conditions would that choice make a big difference ?

I use sofboot bindings exclusively because I've never found a pair of skiboots that didn't hurt my feet.

I hear you, out of close to ten brands and models of hardboots, there's only one I can actually wear. And when I put on the first pair of softboots, I could not believe the difference in comfort, night and day...

I'm 75 and the oldest RVL8 Skiboarder on the West Coast!! No more ski boots for me - -about 3 years total now - and I can snowboard so I love the flex - - just need to get used to it - and i am way lighter on my feet. I have experimented with Flows and a homemade 3rd strap - -bought a Medium Sims early edition used (I wear a size 12 boot in a medium binding!! ) --then on to the Head Speed Disc System -
-- Now I am touting the rear entry snowboard bindings up on riser plates with the RVL8 3rd Strap - -I have the System MTN brand. Very happy with just two late season runs on my 2011 KTPs.
I will be testing the newer Flow and also the Niedecker Smartmatic (they bought Flow) soon. I am waiting on a delivery of DPS Phantom Glide to apply before trying out my RVL8 Skiboards this season - but just checked webcams at Mammoth and Kirkwood and both had super nice days after up to 25 inches on new snow!!!
------ Snowboard boots, Rear Entry bindings and DPS Phantom Glide on your RVL8 Skiboards = A very HOLY GRAIL !!!

was on Big Foots, Cannons, Klimax Redline, 98 Line MNPs, Line ff cam and bomber bindings - new boards: RVL8 2015 SII, 2011 KTP --24 yrs non released - -skiboarding til 2050!!

Good to hear, this winter I'll have the first attempt of using softboots and Ride A8 bindings with the risers and third strap from 540 bindings, KTPs will get the first run, I'm very curious to see how this goes

Do you still get enough sun this time of the year for DPS application ? I want to get more myself, but will have to wait for summer, Paris will be quite cloudy and grey for some months

Hahaha, you might actually be onto something

I see they advertise 20 minutes of tanning to be the equivalent of 3 hours of staying in the sun (and some 12 euros per 10 minutes), this could work, don't know how it maps to DPS curing stations, which I guess use similar tech, just a matter of tuning the power and duration

Go surf the DPS website - -they are in Salt Lake City - -and the new formula for DPS Phantom Glide has a wider temp range - -also seems to only be sold by them or their ski partners. And costs $129. I have ordered and not seen any shipping information, called and said it was shipped. I think they are all out skiing this latest storm to pass thru the Wasatch range. BTW -- my slogan for them is

Phantom Glide I won't leave the chairlift without it!!!

At 74, I went off the Wall at Kirkwood and Chair 23 at Mammoth on my 2011 KTPs with risers and snowboard bindings - -both on the Head system and the latest rear entry System MTN --and I can walk up stairs and back to the car in better shape in snowboard boots - -You should love the KTPs in your latest set-up

Also they do have their own tanning bed which they either sell or give to their ski sales partners - -it does look like a large UV tanner that swings open and must do both snowboards and skis - -lots of great reviews and snowboarders are sold on Phantom Glide too.

I'll put it on my K2 159 snowboard and a new pair of RVL8 Skiboards.

I have one box of their Glide bought earlier this year, I thought winter is not appropriate for application, but actually they say you need an hour of sun with temps above 4.4°C, which is not that much, Paris doesn't get very cold in winter, only quite wet and gray. I'll have to keep an eye on weather forecast, as there's no cure station around
