I wanna get a GoPro for this next year's ski trips. It looks like I'll be going to Utah and I was checking out the Park City Bobsled rides. Last time I was in Park City was about 2 years after the Olympics and the rides then were $400 and had to be scheduled four months ahead. Now the summer tickets are only $80 and reservations are pretty open so the winter rides probably won't be too much different. Anyway, I read a review that said the the only camera allowed onboard the sleds are GoPro's and the driver can mount it either facing forward or backwards. I don't know if that's really true, but I'll assume it's true.
The problem is I get a bit overwhelmed when shopping models and accessories. It appears that the Hero9 is probably the way to go.
Would buying directly from GoPro get better customer service if it needs repaired in the first year?
The Hero9 is supposedly waterproof, how much should that be trusted or is a waterproof case still a good idea?
What GoPro accessories are really handy for skiing? What's your favorite GoPro accessory and least used accessory?
