    Martin Point from Kirkwood

    Kirkwood is a unique ski area as it has backcountry like ski terrain within the ski area boundaries and allows uphill climbing access. Here are some pictures from a dawn patrol up to Martin point and back to the ski area. I am using Spruce Stingers with a Spruce riser custom mounted with Dynafit tech bindings.

      Really fun! Fresh untracked pow 5 days after the last storm . Afterwards rode the lifts , everything off the lifts was tracked out and skier packed. Still nice conditions but great to be able to do some backcountry and then ride the lifts afterwards. The Martin point terrain above the Timber creek beginner base area was originally planned to have a lift in the original Kirkwood master plan but it was never constructed .
