  • First Snow!

We had our first snow in the Tahoe area over the weekend . It was not very much snow but enough to do some cross country skiiing on a snow covered road in the high country. My wife Liz and I went out to say hello to the snow .

Here is Liz skiing down the road.

    Taking a break.

We finally reached our destination, Woods Lake, ... When I have been here before in the winter it has been frozen over. It was nice to still see it like you do in the summer.

    Nice day ...

Liz is on LL. Bean Boreals , a 130 cm short ski with a patterned cross country base , with a Voile 2 telemark binding , and new leather Rossignol backcountry boots. ....

Unfortunately the LL Beans are not being made anymore which is a shame as they work really well .. I have used them myself and like them .
Today I was on 165cm Rossignol 125 Backcountry Skis which are the exact same ski as the Boreals but just a longer length.

We arrived in Reno late Saturday afternoon. We experienced some slushy snow on our drive from Salt Lake City. It looks like a decent amount of snow up on Mt. Rose. I can see it from my front yard.

Jack, I look forward to soon hitting the Tahoe slopes together.
