  • Summer set up

Hey guys our snow is basically gone so we were thinking of a summer set up. Right now we got a 8 foot box that we plan on putting metal L edge things on and lexan on top. We also have 2 5-6 foot rails. We are going to build a 10 foot PVC rail and possible a wood rail with a metal strip ( probs 1/4 inch) on it. The problem in sliding down a hill. We got 2 ideas:

    1. Make a PVC ladder type thing with rungs of pvc to slide down

    2. Get on longish boards and put that cheap plastic grass stuff on it. Then on that get the orange construction fence.

Dont know if these will work...anyone got ideas or suggestions?

PS. newschoolers had mainly just turf and water w/ soap.
    thanks everyone

the pvc ladder idea sounds key.

get some UHMW from a plastic supplier. it will slide faster then metal. and won't rust.

we actually usually just go to the local ice rink and see when they dump their recycled ice so with that said we use man made snow by bringing it home with a 2 ton trailer idk if that helps you

I'm interested in this too, I made a couple pvc rails over the winter and am looking forward to playing on the in the summer especially.

would u recommend the construction fence idea or no? and about the metal...we (as in mainly me) want a metal rail to better simulate a real ski resort rail.

dont got a photo but i would get a few pieces of ply wood. Then staple / screw a felt turf type carpet on top of the board. Then on top of that staple orange construction (laying flat) all the way down. Will this work?

Well, I've seen it done without the fencing, I really have no idea what you're talking about as far as the fencing goes, but the astroturf on plywood is a pretty proven strategy.

                        you can do better

im just gonna use some hay on the ground but mines not an elevated set up
you never really don't realize it, you just quit caring...

I'll at least have a down rail, a down-flat, or a flat down.
                          or maybe a down-flat-down ha.
I have a hill in my backyard, but we also have a swingset that has a small tower that is no longer used. Might use that as a sort of drop in onto a rail, I'll Jersey it, lol.
