  • Skiboarding in the summer

I just bought my BWP's the other day and when i get them i want to go try them out, the onlything is that all the resorts have closed.
I have heard about Mt. Hood and their summer skiing. Has anyone done it? Is it worth it? I live in nrthern california so it wouldnt be that bad to drive with some friends.

    kx12,
I think the best option for post season riding from Norcal , is Mammoth until the lifts close there ... I am not sure how long they will be open this year ... at least through memorial day , but maybe into june , it is about a 4 1/2 hr drive from Sacramento
and I have gone there for a weekend ..
Here is the link to the Mammoth Mountain web cams , pretty nice current conditions as you can see ..
    http://www.mammothmountain.com/cams/index.cfm?cam=main

after that , then Mt .Hood ... see the thread below with a trip report and pictures ... in the summer the riding is on a nice smooth groomed moderately steep 1500 vertical run ..

Here are some other links copied from the other thread

timberline is where the summer riding is on the palmer snowfield , that is where I went July and Oct last season

This is the web cam link , as you can see , plenty of snow up there now ..

KX - glad to see another local on here... I'm up in Roseville and work in Sac. We'll have to hook up next season to do some riding!

im planning on getting a season pass to sierra next year since im a student its pretty cheap i think only 300 bucks.
