    Most of the skiboard edits out there are mainly guys tricking in the park or just cruising. I think part of the reason for lack of instruction is the "instruction free" culture of modern skiboarding; just do what feels natural, ride and go.

    Forum member Kirk Thompson has some excellent posts on learning the park features. Here is a link to one I like;

    There is a series of "how to videos" with Japanese riders that are pretty good. There is one on ground tricks, one on carving and an into to jumps. They are in Japanese though, but you get the idea watching them. Here is the ground tricks one, you can search around for the others in the series;

    Just these, nothing else !

      After watching them all you should have a good idea of technique and be able to get by riding in Japan. 幸運

          Speaking from my own experience, if you are a skater (park, hockey, rec, ice, or otherwise) you should take to skiboards fairly well. The 75cm boards you picked up should feel especially skate-like. So skating is good prep.

          If you are looking for preseason "homework" there is plenty of stuff you can learn from this forum. Check out the new rider section -->http://www.skiboardsonline.com/forum...isplay.php?f=8 and keep asking questions. You'll find most of the forum members are happy to share their knowledge and passion for the sport.

              I've inline skated before in the off season for fitness and balance. This year I switched to aggressive inline and have been learning to carve the bowls in the skate park. If you can put up with the concrete burns and scooter kids, your fore/aft balance will become exceptional.

                  Sorry, I think we thought you skated because of the first quote.

                  Anything thing that works your legs or challenges your balance is good; like wobble boards and slacklining. But if you really want to "get it" quickly, get some skates and start cruising around. The skills between the two sports are readily transferable. Recreational, speed, ice, figure, aggressive, disco, derby, it's all good.
