Some genius at Wachusett decided to build a large jump on a small side trail without including a landing area. I couldn't see this from behind it, so I went off, got about 6-7 feet high, lost my balance, and landed on one foot on flat ground. Ouch.
Luckily it's a relatively minor injury, bruised bone and some inflamed cartilage, should be back to normal in a few weeks. I was really hoping to get a few more days out this year before winter is over for good so I'm pretty bummed. Not to mention I'm missing the track meet against a rival school tomorrow...anyways just be careful on side jumps that people build. Some of them may launch you higher than you expect and with no sloped landing spot that's bad...
