  • Always use protection.....

Ok well it was an attempt at a witty joke about helmets but alas i don't feel it worked.... might have got some attention though....

I'm just curious how many skiboarders wear protecton when they're on the slopes? I myself always either wear my Helmet or my D30 Beanie

i have seen a lot of videos online of people boarding without helmets? am i really that uncool?

Helmet 24/7. On skiis or rollerblades

As far as protection goes... Sorta the opposite

I am such a dork. Not only do I wear a helmet, but a helmet with a small chin guard.

I was thinking about wearing water wings just in case of sudden snow melt...

On the slopes I always wear a helmet but I guess it started due to a lack of "protection". I never wore a helmet until I had kids and started wearing it to set a good example. The reality is that I now prefer a helmet to a hat.

I go with a Smith Vantage that I got a sweet end-of-season deal on a year ago. With the adjustable vents it is never too hot and never too cold. It blends perfectly with my goggles and actually prevents them from fogging. Add in the Skullcandy bluetooth audio and I am wirelessly connected to my own little happy place on the mountain.

My general philosophy on helmets is I suggest that everyone wear one. If you think that you are a good skier or rider and won't get hurt think about all the idiots on the mountain that might run into you. Since I started wearing a helmet it has saved me from a ski falling from a chairlift that whacked me in the head and someone flailing their ski poles around as they fell over in the lift lines.

..... just during pond skimming. I don't know of anyone that has "skimmed" on skiboards and has stayed dry.

Don't have to go fast to have a freak accident, no to have the person behind you lose control. I always wear a helmet. If you spend some time looking for a good one, you can find a comfortable one that fits and works well. I wear a Smith Variant Brim. It is really lightweight, comfortable, and is a good fit for my head, and doesn't make me look like a bobble head doll.
I do it because I can.
I can because I want to.
I want to because you said I couldn't.

I love my helmets and my beanie is for when i get my street steeze on :-)

I dont do it cause i think i'm going to fall but i've already landed a 10ft drop on my head and been wiped out by a few people on the slopes.
