Windham Mountain opens at 2:00 p.m. today for its 50th season

Windham, NY (Dec. 3, 2010) - - Windham Mountain opens for the 2010 - 2011 ski and snowboard season at 2:00 p.m today, Friday December 3rd. In celebration of the resorts 50th season, lift tickets today are only fifty cents.

"Making snow last week in advance of the storm was a bit of a gamble," said Tim Woods, Windham Mountain's president and general manager. "But our guests want to ski, we want to be open and fortunately that base held up. We had a great night of snowmaking last night we're ready to open A-lift and Upper and Lower Whistler trails today."

Today's skiing and riding is for skiers and riders of expert ability only, and snowmaking operations are ongoing.

Beginning Saturday December 4th at 8am, Windham Mountain expects to offer two miles of skiing and riding for all abilities with six trails on thirty acres of terrain served by three lifts. A temporary terrain park consisting of 4 boxes and 3 rails will be set up on Lower Whistler. Snowmaking operations will be continuing on the open terrain.
