  • My 2022-2023 Quiver

All ready to go with my two board Quiver for this season! Condors and new Revolt Sei Playmakers! I have various versions of the Condors but like how the Dave Cox green graphics complement the new graphics on the Playmakers. Both set up with my custom tech binding modifications of the RVL8 Receptor bindings.

Wait, Revolt Playmakers?! Heh, not confusing at all! Great boards, they were a game changer for me. Think they'll be my touring choice if there's any chance of crusty conditions.

Not updating my board quiver this year, since I'm investing in touring gear and haven't destroyed anything in a couple of seasons. After getting the Playmakers I will probably not be spending much time on my DLPs, but I have a buddy who took to them immediately last season. I'll try to get him out on multiple days. Usually I start new riders on Spliffs if there's any powder involved.

          Get that Quiver ready!!

Chain controls on Hwy 88, 89, 50 and Kirkwood opens Dec. 2nd. Watch the webcams at Mt. Ashland and Kirkwood to see the season progress.

I will be riding my 2011 KTP s with Bomber bindings and Head Ski Boots --SoCal Hard pack and Ice plus any difficult lines like The Wall

They have proven to be the Big Brother of my old, retired, Line MNPs.

And my 2018 Rockered Condors with the SIMS Skiboard Bindings and Head Snowboard boots -- powder if i get any on cruiser runs in the afternoon.

My test of the FLOW Snowboard bindings ended with the purchase of the used SIMS with proper upper strap. I'll test it out after making it down Cornice Chair on the RC's and FlOWs a few times - -I'll

start on some easy runs on soft snow. I can snowboard a bit - -but if the RCs perform as expected, no more snowboarding - -the binding choice is still to be determined - -but I love the soft boot and will

try hard to make it work.

Jack - you ski free at Mountain High and Mt. Ashland.

I also will be trying the DPS system on my bases. Time to do an inventory in my RVL8 SkiBoard closet.

Heavenly is open on the California side only. Kirkwood opened with Chairs 5 and 6 - -So Cornice is open. The WebCams show decent lift lines for only 2 chairs on an opening Saturday.

Chairs are Spinning!!! The 2022/23 SKIBOARD season has begun!!!

To compare Quivers : Jack and I both have wide Cambered, non-Rockered carving boards. The KTP and Condor are close in width and degree of camber.

I chose the KTPs off a good, 'used twice' deal. Also, I was mired in powder while Kirk and the gang came out of the trees, crossed the flat Cat Track and disappeared into the 7 feet of wet goo.

I knew right then that the KTPs would hold Kirk Thompson up, so it was time to upgrade from my knee deep Line MNPs,

And we both have one board that is non Camber but Rockered for powder or a Blue Run Fun. I have very little experience on the Rockered Condors at Kirkwood on the Cornice chair in new snow conditions last April. I seemed to get the idea to keep off my toes and more slide the turns. SoCal crud and ice has me digging in the edges.

I am still trying to find a place for Snowboard bindings. And I know for sure that I would feel much better slogging thru deep snow with lighter Snowboard Boots.
