BTW, I rode them back to back with the Brazen on Friday. The Blunts are very close to the Brazen for edge grip. Considering I find the Brazen to have by far the best edge grip of any board I have ever been on, I found that astonishing. Very cool . . .

How do they compare to the 125s? I find the 125s to have the most edge hold in my quiver but almost too much. For me they are tough to get a soft edge when I want it. It seems the Blunts have great edge hold but can also soft edge when you need it.Boards:

2013 Spruce "CTS" 120s
2010 Spruce "Yellow/Red" 120s

2008 RVL8 Revolt "City" - 105cm

Blunt Review - Teenage Female Intermediate Rider
I got out today with my teenage daughter for opening day of our home resort, Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Macungie, PA. Beautiful day - 28 deg F to start, blue skies, 42 deg F when we stopped. Got 3 hours of uninterrupted riding with almost no wait in the lift line. Snow condition was great - very nice coverage and corduroy that got skied off nicely. No hardpack or slick spots. Bear Creek had a beginner run open, their signature blue cruiser Kodiak, a short black (really an advanced intermediate) run Bear Trap (that is an uphill run into - more on that later) that drops into Kodiak and 1 1/2 terrain park runs, which we did not do.
So, I get to channel a teenage girl for this review: Well, you know, it was like, I don't know, cool you know. Like these boards, really, I don't know - gripped the snow??? Like.... ha ha - now for the review based on what she told me on the lift between runs and from my observations:
--My daughter is nearly 16, 5 ft tall and maybe 105 pounds. She has good balance and is fairly fit, but does not have strong legs. She has been skiboarding 2 years - the past 2 seasons on Head 94s out 8 times per season. I have some short videos I will post. She is a solid intermediate rider and can do lower level black runs with no trouble.
--She took to the Blunts right away. First run down a nice wide open green she just cruised down.
--Second run (which I got a brief video of) she just ripped right by me.
--She said the Blunts are very fast, flow nicely on the snow, are easy to edge (she was really getting them on edge nicely), easy to skate, glided way farther than the Head 94s, were easy to turn and stable. She really liked them a lot and found them less tiring to ride than the Head 94s.
--One of the runs, Bear Trap, is actually a pretty good uphill run to get to from the top part of Kodiak, an intermediate run with a fairly shallow pitch at the start. Last season she wouldn't get far at all on the uphill run to Bear Trap on the Head 94s - I would flip my poles around and have her grab the handles and pull her up the uphill approach. I was happy to do it, but it was a pain. Today, she cruised very far up the uphill section and easily skated to the top. I have a video of that I will post.
--Her only "complaint" - the Blunts are really fast and at times she had trouble scrubbing off enough speed. From my perspective that was because she was only taking shallow turns. Once she let the turn develop more she was able to scrub off more speed.
--As the runs got skied off the snow started getting pretty tracked up - the snow was soft but lots of ruts and junked up snow. The Blunts just powered through it all without getting deflected or bogged down.
--She did great in the lift line with them too. No problems in the narrow chutes and slight uphill pitch to get to the main lift line. She was able to "snow shoe" in them really well. These boards don't make sense in some ways - zero camber underfoot, yet in the lift line she was able to keep them flat but still get grip to stay stationary and then easily move forward without having to duckfoot it.
--Overall, she is very happy with the Blunts. A big hit.In pursuit of Peace, Harmony and Flow.....

Blue:
I'm jealous. This weekend at killington was so damn busy I had to leave early on Saturday.
They had 41 trails open. Seemed like thousands of people..I longed for the days in late October when there were only three trails and 50 people!!!
Maybe I should go ride bear next weekend .. Lol
I'm gonna get 45 days on the mountain this year if it kills me!33 down, 12 to go!

Bluewing,
Thank you for sharing the videos of your daughter with us. My daughter and I really enjoyed watching them. I was hoping to get Ashleigh on Spruce Riders this season, but her boot size is just too small. She was really motivated seeing how your daughter handled the Blunts. Very cool. Tell her we said so.Just these, nothing else !
