Looking forward to riding with you Greco! Yes, that is correct about the snow . Conditions will most likely be spring like with firm snow and softening during the day with mild temperatures.. The good news is the resorts still have good coverage with all lifts and main runs open . We will all have a good time ! I will be riding DLPs and Slingshots.

Even so, riding with friends old and new, makes it more than worthwhile.

Adding to this since I have been trying to hit SaT as much as i can with my season pass - I was up there last sunday (2/16) and it was packed due to presidents day weekend, but more importantly the snow conditions are definitely not ideal due to lack of fresh snow and high temps. The area has been consistently above 40 degrees and creates a small ~1 hour window (about 9:30-11am) where the snow is good condition followed by complete slush the remainder of the day.

Edited to add: there are some runs with exposed obstacles like rocks and trees sticking up due to low snow levels. Be careful as some of the runs can get pretty dangerous and was a bit surprised they even had some runs open due to risk. There is no snow anticipated or change in the weather until next monday, so expect these conditions to be the same when arriving. SaT forecast on their website does show slight chance of snow showers, but google weather says Monday the 24th will be 53 degrees! yikes!

Wax up for warmer temps or just a fresh wax to help avoid sticky situations. Other than that it has been beautiful out. bluebird days and hoody weather with no gloves needed. West bowl is where its at.

My Buddy Pass has been claimed. I will notify this post in case something changes.

Also, I have 1 buddy pass available to anyone who wants it for Monday the 24th as i will be going up to meet and try to keep up with the group. PM me whoever wants my $60 buddy pass. First come first serve!
Thanks for the info Booly916, look forward to meeting you !. I love spring riding and slush riding especially on the steeper slopes in the trees etc. . Might have to bring a long some wider skiboards though for the slush and warm wax !

sounds like perfect socal conditions!! cept we have 30 inches max if it gets cold enuf to make snow at Mt. High - -Baldy is closed today and begging for some new snow to stay open --
but last year we couldn't get to Kirkwood - -i bet we get dumped on by Tuesday to make driving miserable - - Baldy boards are used to exposed obstacles like rocks and trees!!

was on Big Foots, Cannons, Klimax Redline, 98 Line MNPs, Line ff cam and bomber bindings - new boards: RVL8 2015 SII, 2011 KTP --24 yrs non released - -skiboarding til 2050!!

Looking forward to seeing everyone next week ! Should be nice travel conditions without any problems with travel delays . No snow expected. Should be bluebird days. Looks cooler for the start of the week with high temps in the 30's at the resort so maybe the good snow window will last longer before getting slushy. One heads up about Northstar. Northstar now charges for parking except for the first parking lot off highway 267 as you enter the access road to the resort. It is well signed as " All Free Parking". I recommend just parking there. The shuttle from there to the resort is fast and it really isn't worth driving in and paying 10 dollars to get closer. The other resorts we are travelling to do not charge for parking. Please remember that the Heavenly Meeting place is at the California Lodge Ticket area not the Heavenly Gondola or the Tram . Also the Kirkwood meeting place is at the main Mountain Village Area Ticket area NOT Timbercreek. Timbercreek is the first parking area and base lodge as you come in to Kirkwood You need to travel further up the road to the main village area. A number of folks are staying at the South Lake Tahoe Casino area . It would be useful if folks post up here if you will have a car and can take other riders who are staying in the area to carpool to the resorts. We have 25 confirmed riders !

Only a couple of days away! I'm stoked to meet a bunch of other skiboarders and not get funny looks from everyone else. If anyone still has buddy passes available lemme know!

We have rain headed for socal on Friday night with the hopes of ski operators for a few scant inches --clear and sunny by sunday - -so i might expect some snow falls a few hundred miles north - -which means even a dusting by Monday morning and colder temps might make us very happy - - just keep the roads clear --is that too much to ask???

Hoodie weather indeed! All resorts are checking in with good coverage with almost all terrain and lifts open . Spring has sprung early in the Sierras . Overnight temps are below freezing allowing the ski runs to firm up and snowmaking to cover any thin patches . Nice daytime warming to allow the snow to soften and not be too icy . Terrain parks are all in good shape and are being spruced up nightly .Overnight grooming on all the major runs.
I love spring skiing in Tahoe , It just isn't usually this early . Spring riding is all about following the sun around the mountain and hitting the proper slopes at the right time after the sun softens them and before they get too slushy . We will generally be starting on the intermediate groomed slopes in the morning and leaving the steeper and off piste slopes to later in the day as the snow softens the firm snow. Nice weather for watching the park pros do their thing in the park as well and hanging out in the sun for lunch with a nice brew in hand ! Welcome to Cali Sunshine riding ! Usually you would be treated to this kind of fun in May ,just a little early this year !

FYI ,we have changed the good bye dinner from Thursday to Wednesday night to allow folks who are leaving Shredfest Thursday to attend. Location is the same ,time is still 7pm. Attendees should have received an email from Slow with location address.

A link to Mt. Ashland webcams - -a few hundred miles north -- bluebird day - -see the surface --full coverage but no new snow - -will be similar in Tahoe - - https://www.mtashland.com/webcams/

the mtn is similar to Mammoth Chair 5 - -small but nice riding, trees, a bowl and backside - -cheap too - -70 and over are FREE!!

this is the site i use for travel in the Tahoe area - - with cams of the roads http://oss.weathershare.org/?Center=...c#.XlFqaflKiW_
