I was at Mt. Rose today. It's in the best shape it has been in so far this season, but it still could stand another foot or two of snow. Right now there's plenty to have a good time. Hopefully not too much will melt before the fest.

I know it's probably to late, but if anyone is still needs lodging you should look into the snowbomb pass from Costco. It has some limitations, but the hotel is quite nice and you get a few free ski passes. Oh, and if you do it make your reservations online vs phone. If you make reservations by phone you have to pay resort fees.

This just in....
A few models do show the possibility for a storm to sneak under the ridge late next week around February 20th, but I'd say that's a low probability scenario at this point. It absolutely could happen, but it'll take some luck for a storm like that to more directly toward Tahoe. I'll continue to keep an eye on this possibility, and I'm sure BA will keep you updated when he returns on Saturday.

Hi All,
Unfortunately this post is to tell everyone we will be missing our first Shredfest. Cindy's certification for her new job demands that the personal days she normally saves for Shredfest be used for fieldwork (her new administration might frown on 3 sick days in a row after using the personal up). We were looking all this week at how we could make it work but we couldn't get it to. We are bummed. As I told Jack you will have to give many updates and pics. Also I hope the snow comes your way. We will be back on track next year as her masters will be over this Summer. I'm just happy because Cindy loves her new job so this little sacrifice is worth it.64 CM Bigfoot’s

After the storm passed we had three days of glorious skiing. The temps turned unseasonably warm and crept up into the 60's. But, the snow stayed nice and very skiable, until Friday (2/13/15) when it finally broke down into slushy sticky mashed potatoes. Those 3 days were something very special, it was like spring skiing in short sleeves but with great snow. I'll never forget those 3 wonderful days with a blend of bluebird skies, spring temps, perfect snow and world class views of the Tahoe emerald water.
I rode my trusty Sherpa's all week. They seemed to somehow be at home, like they had been designed and custom built specificly for those slopes. The turn radius and stability gives them a natural flow harmonic that syncronized effortlessly with the mountain.
Our group attendance was down a bit. Four years ago at Tahoe we had 103 people. This time we were down to 66 folks. The most disconcerning stat was that less than 10% were under the age of 40.
I've got tons of stories from this trip, but the washer/dryer just dinged at me so I'll stop for now and wish that all my shorty brothers and sisters here are able to have some magical days in SLT like I just did.
