Very cool! I have not been out West to ski and I haven't been to a Shredfest before so I am hoping I can make this. Might also be an excuse to buy a bigger set of boards.....

The only place I've stayed was with a 100 person group at the Embassy Suites SLT.
      http://www.embassytahoe.com/

It's within walking distance of the Heavenly gondola. They included a wonder breakfast everyday with made to order omlets and anything else you can think of. The apree ski was a 2 hour open bar happy hour including mixed drinks, only limit was you could only get 2 drinks at a time. With a group rate it was very affordable. It was a world class experience, complementing the world class views and world class skiing.

Although i won't be there this time (very expensive from the UK) i am going to try my hardest to get there for next year. Anyone have an idea how much average spend on one of these trips?
Unless you risk it, you don't know what it is.

My trips out west with my ski club in Illinois run ~ $1300 for a weeks lodging, air fare, shuttles, lift tickets and usually one meal a day, wine/cheese parties, pizza parties etc. Then there's incidental expenses on top of that. But, that's only going half way across the U.S.

A similar trip from Illinois to Les Trois Vallees (3 Valleys) France this next year is $1839 without lift tickets and another $440 for an additional 3 nights in Paris after skiing.

The younger hardier soles may some creative ways to save money.

                  Hi Urban,

My wife and usually spend around $1200-1500 USD including lodging, gas, lift tickets, food, misc. We drive from Southern California so no plane tickets. Valmorel or ysb33r would have better flying costs. Lodging can be as cheap as $75.00 per night to as much as you want to go for the four nights some 300+ per night. Some people are open to getting rooms/condos together to cut costs. Lift tickets are probably $350 per person to ski all the days. I always look for discounts as I am a cheapskate when it comes to lift tickets. Some times 2 for 1's can be found. South Lake Tahoe seems to be a little less pricey than the North shore of Lake Tahoe. Shortydude's Embassy suites deal looked great and would be a step up from our previous lodging in SLT. I don't know if they would do a deal for us as our group has not yet hit 100. Might be worth asking as we get closer though. We usually try to scope out a place in a month or two that has no cancellation fee and book it ahead of time and then if something better comes up or injury hits we can change it if needed. Hope that helps a bit.

                  Chad

                      Hi Sempai,

The past two SF's (the first and third) that were held in the South part of Lake Tahoe we went to Kirkwood (my Favorite), Heavenly, and Sierra at Tahoe. We usually rely on the local experts(Jack,Wendall,Dave Cox) to determine which resorts on which days as they know which are best as far as busyness or conditions. Hope that helps a bit. I'm sure the resorts are not set in stone. This is just to give an approximate idea on areas and lift ticket cost.

Odds are that it will repeat as Chad states. The specific days for each resort needs to be sorted out.

Liquid Refreshments: depends on the day and how many friends I have
                              Shopping: too much
Casino: have resisted the temptation so far
