  • Partnership for East Coast Connection.

I’m happy to announce that this years East Coast Connection 4 will be partnered our own Ski Rex Media but now also with Giga Glide.

They will be providing me with a few bottles of their wax/treatment for everyone to test out if you would like. The plan for now is to have whoever wants to try it stop at my condo Sunday evening and I will apply the treatment. The application takes about 30 seconds. With an overnight soak the treatment is said to last up to 7 full ski days. I currently have 4 days on mine and they are still sliding great. A quick application(5-10 mins before skiing) is said to last 2-3 full days).

If anyone has interest in trying, let me know. It would require a clean-ish unwaxed base. I will be sure to have some base cleaner with me just Incase.

After the event I will reach out to everyone to get your thoughts on performance, etc and I will be writing a full comprehensive review. Once they secure more sales outlets here in the US they will be providing our skiboard group with a heavily discounted coupon code as a thank you for our help with their product.

Any feedback on the Giga Glide product ? From what I'm reading on the web they had something equivalent to the Phantom, but what they're selling now is not permanent (which I don't mind, as I'm going to try DPS this summer), it's extremely easy to apply and supposed to last about a week. Do you have any direct experience if it lasts indeed like that much, or even if it's only a few days, it would be tempting, as much easier to apply again on the spot versus another waxing

i got some about 2 weeks ago and immediately cleaned my bases and did a coat. super easy, super quick. Spread the stuff around and wipe off excess with papertowel quick. If you let soak for 12ish hours it is supposed to last up to a week of full ski days. if you do a quick application and ski right after it, it is supposed to only last 2 days.

Currently I have 4 ski days on mine and they are sliding smooth. There is base penetration, however not a permanent bond like phantom. I still plan on doing phantom to my skis over the off season but will continue to use this as well as a buffer.

i will have a collective review after our meet up and get some others opinions. As far as my opinion, I can see why some European shops are replacing all of their waxing supplies with this stuff. i like it so far, and i don't see a down fall.

That's my plan as well, wait for the summer to apply Phantom on at least a couple of skiboards, but until then ... this one looks intriguing, they seem to have been around for a couple of years already and like you said, having some partnerships with ski shops, but I'm quite surprised there are almost no reviews on ski forums

they are a UK based company that literally just started distribution with only a few places here in the US. They are trying to expand their operations and partner with more companies. they are a legit company though. Testing facilities and everything are legit. There are a couple good youtube videos on them.

Actually they seem to be from Austria, I don't doubt they are legit, it looked like they started in 2018 with a kickstarter campaign, there seem to be quite some Austrian/Swiss/German online shops selling their product, but not that many users reviews. Guess I'll search some more while waiting to hear how it works during your group test
