  • I found my next purchase.

So I bought new skates, new skiboards, new parkour shoes. My only other hobby is, MOTORCYCLING! So, you can guess what I HAVE to buy next.

    A Triumph Thruxton. SEXY!!!

The picture does not do it justice. It is so much prettier in person.

If you get the chance to hit up a Triumph dealer, check it out and drool at my next purchase... you know two years from now.

Wow crazy, my dad used to drive a triumph...but it was a car....I didn't realize they were still around or is someone using that name again?

They went out of business and came back just a few years ago. I'm so glad they did. No motorcycle beats the classic-modern look of a Triumph.

I agree, I've been wanting a Triumph for such a long time now. Unfortunately I'm still a few years from getting one.

Got my Speed Triple sitting in the garage, I think I'll go for a ride tomorrow, at least down to work and back.

so apparently our choice in being different in winter sports also applies to the other things in life.

Well if 14 years ago is a few years ago then yeah I guess a few years ago.

i like the Thruxton a lot but i like the ducati sport 1000 more.

i have rode both bikes and for me the duck performs better. the thruxton is cheaper to maintain though and still a great bike. you can't go wrong with either one. i did not know any of you guys rode bikes. here is a pic of me on my last bike at a track day at VIR.

that duck is in there sport classic series. that picture is of a 06 with aftermarket pipes. they are very nice, they handle good, and sound great. you can find them used pretty resonable.

You're assuming I'm not going to modify my Thruxton. When I find the money I'm going to make that bad boy ridiculous.

I've always enjoyed the look of Ducati's, but the dry clutch for me is a turn off.

I'm a fan of the Speed Triple, if I was ever to get a sports bike, that'd be the one.

I like the Scrambler and the Bonneville T100 from Triumph as well, but the Thruxton is by far my favorite. Like I said, the picture does NOT do it justice. It looks 1000x better in person.

There's nothing wrong with the way that Thruxton looks in the pic you posted. Simple is sexy!

Hah, wasn't saying you said that... was I? Eh, if I was, sorry, didn't mean it like that. Just stating my opinion over and over... I'm a totally Triumph enthusiast.

But seriously. ONE THOUSAND TIMES BETTER IN PERSON! I actually drooled when I saw it.

emptimind, i know what you are saying. bikes have a different effect on different people. a bikes that is ulgy to me might look great to you. i hope you get the thruxton an love it. btw check to see if you can run tubeless tires on the thruxton. i can not recall if you can or not. on the duck you have to have the wheels sealed around the spokes in order to run tubeless.
