  • Aspen skiing buys Intrawest

Looks like Vail may have a real competitor for their Epic Pass if Aspen combines their Max Pass with Intrawest's Super Pass.

Apparently, Aspen's aspirations are even greater.

And the resort consolidation continues. Eventually we'll be able to buy one season pass to access any ski resort. I only fear that the next step will be closing of under-performing resorts and less skiing opportunities.

I will say that my local hills of Jack Frost and Big Boulder being part of Peaks has seemed to help both resorts. The season pass now has more value and Peaks uses the park fab shop at Big Boulder to make all the a rails and park features for their network.
