Never been to Fernie but my personal fav is Revelstoke. This video isnt as theatrical as the one for Fernie tho

Also, if you're really looking to isolate yourself there's Field, BC, less than 200 people live here and its in the middle of Yoho national park, short drive away to Lake Louise and Kicking Horse resort. I was there when they filmed this TV show.

Because its in a national park no new houses are allowed to be built, so its hard to find a place to live, but you'll be sure it will never turn into a over crowded ski town.
