  • First day on the TwoowTs

It was a good day! I really like skiboarding! I think I'll keep them around

Picked it right up and had a really good time. I still think snowboarding is more fun (mostly cause I'm so used to it) but the different feel and style of the skiboards is worth doing more in the future. The variety will be nice. I had a great time.

Unfortunately my wife lost her cell on the first run and that ate into our morning ski time dealing with that.

The afternoon was pretty great though. More to come.

    First day on the TwoowTs

    Day Two:

Today was an epic day in my life. Definitely in the top 5 days of my 45 years on this Earth.

As I predicted in my very first thread, I put my daughter in one day of ski school and took it from there. The day of ski school didn't amount to much more than day care so I could learn my skiboards. I did stop by and spied on the class yesterday and I was disappointed at what I saw.
So this morning we hit the bunny slopes and I took matters into my own hands. I had my daughter shredding the bunny slope before lunch (lol, more credit to her than me, but we did work well together). After lunch we took the express to the top. What I witnessed from there on out made me one super proud and happy dad!

Needless to say....she's skiing. She may not be paralleling but she does great...Her and I have confidence to just let her rip and progress.

Yes, I know she's not the only kid to learn to ski on day two but she exceeded my best expectations. She took direction well and it all just clicked, it helped that she truly loves being on skis and on the mountain. This will be a lifelong activity.

Yep, Good day today, one of my best.

Thanks G-Dub!! Aside from a couple of speedbumps the first day, we really are.

My wife is starting to get her snowboarding legs back as well.

Nice! Looks like you are getting progressively more comfortable with them as the video rolls on... Looked pretty shaky at the beginning

Nice! I hadn't got the hang of skiboards yet when last season was cut short for me and I haven't had the chance to get out yet this season. This video is really encouraging. Thanks for sharing it!

                First day on the TwoowTs

Thanks guys! Yep I was shaky for a few LOL! But it started to click.
My second run was a bust because I went back up to go look for my wife's cell phone so it was a slow, boring run and I was trying to scan for the phone.
Then I went down to "spy" on my daughters ski school. Spent about 45 mins getting down to it then watching for a bit. Then we had lunch, shopped and messed around for a while. Then I went back up for 3rd and 4rth runs while my wife did another run and then waited for our daughter to be let out of the ski school.
I decided to push it a bit harder on my last two runs.

                  First day on the TwoowTs

I really think that skiing the next two days with my daughter was beneficial. I learned a lot of control over the boards. I even skied backwards a few times and did a couple of ..almost ..360 surface spins. On the third day she started going fast enough that I could ski at a good pace with her. I felt like I got a full 3 days of skiing in..which is not what I expected going in. It was awesome.

Thanks Sempai! We were at Purgatory. I wish I could've made it to the backside but that will have to wait till next year.

Hey Darklin. We will be back for skiing on the week of Dec 26th. We'll be going back to Purg or try Telluride. Kind of depends on where we can secure pet friendly lodging. We boarded our dog this trip. I'm not doing that again if I can help it lol!

We're planning a June trip back to Durango for some rafting, zip lining, hiking, train ride and a little off roading.

If you have any tips or recommendations for us, let me know.
