  • Dahu Ski Boots - Soft Boots for use with Release Bindings?

I'm surprised that no-one else on the forum seems to have seen the potential of the Dahu ski boots, especially those folks who are into soft boots as they can be used with release bindings.
    Dahu are a Swiss company.

    Here's an explanatory video.

BTW If Dahu's web site comes up in French on your web browser, click the "EN" button on the right-hand side, near the top, for English.

€590 is steep, but you effectively get tqo boots in one. Can just walk onto the plane with the inner boot - Save some weight there, boy!

      Interesting!

Any information on the last of the boot? I also wonder how difficult it is to step into the frame with snow or ice on the base of the boot.

        100mm width last.

The exoskeleton has longitudinal "rails" inside which mate with grooves along the boot soles. You can maybe see them in the video. I guess that they're designed to help shatter off ice and snow on the soles. The inner boot's soles are all rubber, so I suppose that snow and ice is less likely to stick to them.

Apex. Similar in that they have an exoskeleton. Dissimilar, in that they're all one piece, rather than hinging open to assist stepping in.

BTW The Dahu boots are already on the market.

Aside from that 100m width, these look amazing. Not sure about the cost though as that would come out to something like $800 CAD. Haha!

                    Canting?

I usually need canting in my ski boots. I've looked at the videos and the pictures/diagrams and also read the text on Dahu's website but cannot spot a means of canting on the boots. I have sent them a question about it. I'll post their response when I receive it.

I was wondering about the "button" at the sides of the frame. Could it be adjusted to tilt the cuff? Would it be a pressure point on the ankle bone?

Dahu's response to my question asking whether their ski boots have a canting adjustment.

"Hi. None, it's neutral. The pronation and supination need to be first corrected with the footbed.
