  • What do you hate about the park?

I for one hate it when it's busy and other riders aren't considerate of others around them and don't wait for their turn to hit the rails/jumps when it is clear.

Here's a video from earlier today where as I was getting ready to get some little air, a snowboarder came out of nowhere and stopped/fell right in the middle of the jump forcing me to maneuver around and almost lose control.

    Snaked !

Last year they had some great ride on ride off boxes for beginners. This year they haven't set them up yet, they are just sitting by the side of the trail. With so little to ski, the park has the best snow but nothing for newbies to practice on.
    Just these, nothing else !

It's hard to say without more video but it appears this snowboarder was already in the middle of the 2 jumps being completely in your blind zone. I'm also confused how riders are able to hit this from ether direction. Is it a bowl? Seems dangerous.

What I hate about the local resort park, too small, 4 features/boxes with snow jumps on either side and that's it. Landings are always into hard pack/ice.

If memory serves me well he came from my left handed side cutting across and didn't have enough speed or the right angle to get it right. People usually stop and tag in line at the top by the tow rope and give at least 20 feet of separation between every rider. I'm usually very cautious making sure i get at least a glimpse of the rider in front me making a decent landing but that guy as I said came out of no where and snaked it. The angle from which the video was taken is a bit misleading but where you see me coming from in the beginning of the vid is a straight line.

Another thing I hate about people at the park are the ones who after a fall take their sweet ass time to get back up and out of the way "exception are people who are injured", little do they know there's probably another person behind who isn't aware of their epic failure and will probably dangerously land on or near them. When I fall at the park my main priority is to get out of the way asap.

luckily i did not hit him, but he caused me to flail my arms, then my flailing arms hit the camera flash that my friend is holding in the pic and i broke it off. i was not very happy with the mystery snowboarder man.

last year winter park, this year this? Talk about bad luck

Everyone should move to the midwest like me and moltencore where the only problem is a kid in your way sometimes.

                  For Reference:

but the tow ropes make all of that worth it

My biggest annoyance is adults who cruise through parks riding through the landings of features not paying any respect to those who are waiting to hit them. I see ski patrol do this all the time locally, and it is just terrible. Virtually all parks are clearly marked and have warning signs posted. The worst is when they take their kids with them... the kids have no idea what is going on, but their parents are just being ignorant and irresponsible. This is extremely dangerous for all involved.

I believe we all agree on that one and how reckless people can be at times without any hint of cautiousness to their surroundings.

When people don't know "The Code".

                              http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoR44fOHlgA#t=381

I went on a jump barely avoiding a three man pile up of skiiers and snowboarders on the bottom of the jump. As they were crying in pain, I desperately helped them to collect their scattered gear and helped them move out of the way. I raise my hands up to signal that the jump is not clear and three more snowboarders fly over us one of them adding to the pile. Am I the only one that knows the code at the park? I never see anyone following it when I'm out there, then again the resort I go to are full of jerks....
