  • 120cm Spruce vs skis

I was looking into Spruce 120's, and 120cm is a pretty long length for a skiboard, approaching the length of some shorter skis.

I've never skied more than once, and that was 10 years ago (was still in the snowploughing phase back then). What advantages would a longboard skiboard from Spruce have over a 120cm ski? How would technique be different at this length?

The Spruce 120's have a profile that is meant to be ridden more like a skiboards (tight turning radius that is designed for carving) versus short skis being designed to ride like skis (unweighting the tails to initate a turn). That difference in feeling is why those of us that ride longboards prefer them over a lot of skis. That being said, there are some ski designs out there that are beginning to ride more and more like skiboards.

Another big factor is that you are not likely to find 120cm skis with the width of the Spruce 120's. This extra width will give you more float in powder, and more stability on the rest of the mountain.

I can because I want to.
I want to because you said I couldn't.
