Question for ya: I've read your posts on KTPs vs. Condors vs. Sherpas and as soon as my new Condors ship I will have all 3. Jeff from Spruce hooked me up with a set of prototype powder plates but I never got a chance to try em out last year. How do you think they would work with the Condors? He said you tried them on the Sherpas, but preferred riding them without (which after riding the Sherps all last year, I can see why....they just don't need help in pow!). I know you said you liked the balance and spring of the Condors when center mounted, so do you think the pow plates would do more harm than good on those too? I'd be interested in your thoughts....Thanks!
  2. hi docta i think in order to get the tele turn nailed the hagan would be the best , then you could apply what you learn to the wider scouts or sherpa . you can make nice alpine turns especially on the short boards with tele bindings.. i would shy away from the ntn system until the bugs get worked out .. it also would be way overkill on short skis although nice for long skis especially at the resort .. there is really no performance enhancing effects of telemarking it is all about style ... after trying everything else , i have fallen in love with skiboarding and especially with what can be done with the wider boards like the sherpa and the condor in the backcountry.. i also like the poleless style , which like telemarking was cool to learn .. nice hearing from you again ! and good luck with telemarking , it is really cool to get that drop knee feel ..

How are you, was hoping to get some advice for the coming season, by reading some recent posts it seems you have given up on tele... why? Im thinking about giving it a whirl this season to see if it might work for me; more interested for variable resort conditions (mostly steeps, trees) than ascents.

Were you having performance issues with tele vs alpine?

What would work better... hagan 133, scouts, or sherpas?

Are there any actual performance enhancing features of being able to make a tele turn, or is it all just "feel" and "style"?

Can alpine turns be made on tele ski-boards, or must every turn be drop kneed?

Im thinking of going with the NTN system, ever try it?

Jeff S suggested I ask you and Dave S about boot ramp angle. Don't know your email address, not very familiar with the workings of the forum, so I posted the below - if you could have a look I'd appreciate it.
    Thanks, Steve Drew
I ride Spruce 120's and Sherpas, mainly carving blue and black eastern groomers. My boots are Head Edge (8?). I think these boots have a bit too much forward ramp for me, and want to lift the toe, looking for better balance and less thigh burn. I know most of us think of leaning forward more to keep the quads from getting tired, but some things I've read and felt lead me to try setting these boots with the toe 1-2 mm higher (or the heel lower but that might be harder to achieve). It seem the easiest way to try this would be to put a shim between the toepiece and the aluminum riser. Does anybody have suggestions about shim material and how to achieve this?

one more thing about length. what can longer skiboards(120) do better that shorter ones(-99)? And other way around
