Hardcore, I guess haha. I just love how the Revolts feel. I've never skied in my life, so I'm not into long skiboards at all. My background is in rollerblading, so the shorter boards feel more at home for me. People get shocked at how well short boards can handle out here in Colorado.

My parents live in NY, so I keep extra Revolts there with them, so when I fly back east to ride I can just show up, screw on my bindings, and get riding. But, I just read that you didn't like Revolts, haha. What other boards have you been on?

I started my first season with BWPs, but when I got to Colorado I had a pair of Revolts I won a decided to just go with them right away. I've loved them from the moment I put them on. I am smaller at 5'6" and 140lbs, so I've found myself using them in most situations. I have Condors, but I have only ridden them three or four times. I will try the Rockered Condors next year when I have a chance. But, I am more excited to see what new Revolts come out.

The shoulder is feeling better. Still pretty sore, but I am cleared to ride now so I will be out this weekend for the first time.

If you ever want to try different boards out let me know. I keep a few different sets stocked here on the east coast in NY.

Unfortunately, there are no stores that rent skiboards, and resorts only have Snowblades or the like. The sport is so niche that proper gear is impossible to rent, and you won't be able to take lessons anywhere. Some people take skiing lessons, but I'm not a fan of that route. Skiboarding isn't skiing, and the techniques are different.

With this season pretty much over, there's not much you can do. If you'd like, I can lend you and your daughter boards from my collection. I'd be more than happy to meet up and give you some pointers to get riding. I don't know If you want to try to do that yet this season or wait til the next. Let me know, and I'll do my best to help out.

About Bluewing
I'm in my early 50s. Didn't get back to wintersports until early 40's when I learned to snowboard to help my daughter learn. She wasn't stubborn enough to stick with it - I was. Snowboarded a lot over 3 seasons and then tried skiboards. I was hooked and have sold my snowboarding gear. Rode all types of skiboards using release bindings, including Head 94s (what I started on), Blunts, Spruce 120, Summit Custom 110, DS 110 prototypes, Raptors (the protoypes), Ospreys (the prototypes) and Sherpas. Switched for long skis half-way through the 2014/2015 season. Loved them. Back into skiboards at end of 2016/2017 season.
