Somebody should definitely do something to make there be a mobile site of the forum. These days, technology is taking over, and there is so many ways to access the internet. I know that when I'm on the go, and have my phone with me, I'm always wanting to check out the forum and see what's going on. You can still go on the forum, but it loads the whole html page and everything is kind of out of proportion. I think having a mobile site would really be cool and fast to use. I don't really know how someone would go about doing this or if anyone even can, so I may be just talking crazy right now, but it was just a thought. Am I the only one who thinks this is a good idea?!

Cody, I agree 100% on this. Recently I downloaded an app onto my Android phone that allows for easy navigation of forums. Unfortunately the SBOL forums were not supported. Somebody should definitely work on someway to have better mobile access.

Thanks. I knew somebody would agree with me. But who would be in charge of doing something like this? I know Dave told me Skiboardsonline and Revel8 are 2 different sites. I don't know if Greco would have anything to do with this or not. Who runs Skiboardsonline?

Well if G runs both sites, then I don't see what the problem would be with getting a mobile site going. I mean, I don't want to put everything on Grecos's shoulders and ask him to do something like that, unless he's up to it, but there is tons of smart Skiboarders out there on this forum, and I'm sure somebody knows someway of doing something. If it' benefits the site, and riders, I don't think G would have a problem working with or letting someone try to help us out and get this going. But then again I could be completely out of line, and maybe everyone is fine with the way it is now. Then again, it's just a thought.

it is a good idea.. but it costs money if your talking about an actual app..as far as a touch site.. that can probablly be done, but i would ask someone other that G.. That man does everything for us,and he deserves a break. i know there are some egg heads on here who could work something out..

It is a good idea we just need someone who is capable

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. G does everything, and if there's other people who can do it, then they should help out. This is a community after all..we're all here for the same reason; because we love the sport. It shouldn't just be up to Greco to get this stuff done. So we just need to work on finding somebody who will be able to help us get this done. If anybody knows anything about this, please say something.

Tapatalk (which I think is that android app your referring to) is a plugin for forums, whether or not it supports vB I dunno (It should as its popular), shouldn't be more than installing the plugin for greco to have it working on mobile.

Or you guys can just get a real phone :P

its pretty simple. just need a mobile friendly webpage that will read the database.

i have no time to do this unfortunately.

I do believe Tapatalk was the app I referred to. However, once I realized that SBOL was not supported on it I promptly uninstalled it. While taking care of whatever needs to be done for the app to work with the SBOL forums, this only solves the issue for a select few of us. I believe Cody was more on the right track with a mobile site, but if that really could only be done by those who don't have time, and Tapatalk can easily be done...someone should get on that for those of us with Android

great idea guys. i'm on it. i've been wanting to spend some time working on the forum but with the new rvl8 site, shredfest 2 video, new products, updating sbol site, etc. i haven't had time. i've just sent the job posting to a few vbulletin specialists and will keep you posted.

                        thanks,

                          Awesome!!

I remember on last Jay Jam Trip, Dave (Fourdown) was trying to find out something that was written on the forum. He had hard time uploading it on his DROID.

I didn't have my Droid at Jay Jam. I had my original HTC Touch. It wasn't the site, it was the fact that I ws on a lift with no service and it was 20 below zero.
