they look pretty cool to me, tight fitting so no diaper look and any padding has to help when you hit the ground, i know i've bruised a lot of crap and i wish i had some padding. i think SBOL is going to carry one model, the best one for skiboarding of course, and we'll see how they sell and how well they work. stay tuned.

There's no style in wearing crash-pads. I agree with the diaper comparison. I wore them on vert for a couple of years and those were two style-less years. So bad. My hip was real fucked-up at the time though. It still don't look right... Just learn to fall Mike. Its just as important a skill as landing. Trust me.

I have never used pads like these in skiboarding, but they kind of remind me of ice hockey pants which really really do protect you in a fall (especially when you land right on your tailbone.) They'll protect you from a hit to your kidneys, too. If one was truly concerned about their safety, these crash pads would probably be a good idea. Sometimes landing on East coast snow is just like landing on a hockey rink...

i wear these.
its cool that you can change the pads around to your specific needs.
i put on the hip pads when i hit rails, and take everything else out except the tailbone pad for jumps and riding. Thats the only thing i really worry about, a bruised ass cheek is one thing, a broken tail bone is another.
i highly recommend em for learning.
